At this time Gerda Spillmann ships to:

  • The United States of America, including...
  • Puerto Rico
  • US Virgin Islands
We no longer ship internationally. If you have questions or concerns, please contact customer care (info@gerdaspillmann.ch) on how to place an international order or to find out where you may purchase GS products outside of the regions listed above. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

**Disclaimer: By placing an order on GerdaSpillmann.com you assume responsibility for assuring the product can be lawfully imported to the destination country. Orders shipped outside the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and/or other fees.

Recipients of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches the recipient's country. Any additional charges for customs clearance are the responsibility of the recipient. Please refer to the law within your respective location as Gerda Spillmann, GS Products does not have any control over this. We cannot provide a cost estimate as we are not involved in that part of the shipping process.

Do I need to pay tax on my order?

Tax is required in the state of Utah due to our warehouse location. For those who do not have a Utah billing or shipping address, no tax is required.

In certain situations, import taxes, customs duties and other fees may be required depending on your location. These costs are separate from Gerda Spillmann, GS Products. They are charged based on the laws in your specific location. We cannot give any type of estimate as to what they may be. Once the item has left our warehouse and in the hands of customs officials, additional fees as mentioned above are calculated and must be paid by the recipient. We do not have control over this.

**Trade professionals: If you are in the state Utah & have a re-seller permit, cosmetology or esthetician’s license and a business license, contact our customer care department. Once you have presented these documents, we are able to exempt you from paying tax.

What does 'pharmaceutical grade' mean?

Cosmetic quality is what department, drug and grocery stores typically sell. These include the big and expensive brands and the cheaper ones. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allows cosmetic grade products to contain up to 30% bacteria. This means that ingredients may only be 70% pure. It is a large breeding ground for bacteria. This is why makeup packaging tells us to throw away any unused product every 90-180 days. And 95% of the skincare industry is cosmetic quality and unregulated by the FDA. Cosmetic companies are not required to register their products with the FDA, while cosmetic products are subjective and do not reflect or require scientific testing.

Pharmaceutical grade ingredients used in skin care products are FDA regulated. The FDA requires that pharmaceutical grade ingredients be 99.9% pure. Products must contain 0.1%, or less, of bacteria. Only 5% of the skin care industry is under the regulation established by the FDA and considered pharmaceutical grade skin care products. All ingredients, in all Gerda Spillmann products are 100% Pharmaceutical grade.

What does Hydrophilic mean?

The literal meaning of hydrophilic is ‘water-loving’. Most Gerda Spillmann products are hydrophilic which allows them to be combined with water and still be effective. Combining one of your moisturizers with a small amount of water will help to nourish your skin but will also allow your product to last longer, since you will be using less. A lot of our products are hydrophilic but not all. You will want to double check with the products that you use; items like the Renaissance Age Serum are not hydrophilic and not meant to be combined with water.

What makes Bio-Fond Foundation a mineral foundation?

Bio-Fond Foundation's base is derived from a natural clay, rich with minerals. This clay also lends its color to our foundations giving us a wide range of foundations. This clay is processed, purified and refined leaving behind only the minerals that are good for you, the color to make you feel beautiful and the natural defense from the sun to keep you protected.

What is the best way to apply foundation?

Depending on the amount of coverage you want here is a list of suggestions:
Brush – use a larger, round brush (ie Kabuki) for a light, sheer finish
Sponge-a high quality sponge will give you a fuller finish and is ideal when also applying a primer or moisturizer; replace sponges often to prevent bacteria.
Fingertips – thoroughly wash and cleanse your hands before and after. This application will give you the most coverage.

I ordered several skincare products—in what order should I use them?

The most critical step in skin care is cleansing. We recommend cleansing twice a day before applying products to the skin. Generally speaking, the product closest to your skin has the highest probability of producing changes within the area it is applied. If moisture is your concern, apply a moisturizer first.

If wrinkles and fine lines are most important to you, apply the Renaissance Age Serum first followed by a moisturizer. During the daytime follow these products with your Bio-Fond Foundation Makeup. Before bed apply a more moisturizing product to help your skin during the natural restoration period.

To help you make the most of your skincare routine, we've put together a few examples of application order, below.

Does Bio-Fond Provide Sun Protection?

Yes. Bio-Fond Foundation make-up includes Titanium Dioxide and Iron Oxides. The EPA recognizes that Titanium Dioxide is a translucent ingredient that helps to scatter and deflect harmful UVB rays. Equivalent SPF coverage will vary depending on how much coverage and the color of Bio-Fond that you are using.

How long will my Bio-Fond compact last? What about my skincare products?

A Deluxe Bio-Fond Foundation compact will last approximately 3-4 months depending on your amount of usage. When used lightly and infrequently it can last up to a year.

Skin care products will vary in length but are concentrated for maximum usage.

Can I mix products?

All GS products are synergistically created, meaning they are meant to work in tandem with one another. While some products can be combined and then applied, others are better used in a specific order, one after another.
RAO - Renaissance Active Oil, is a great product to combine with a moisturizer for an intensifying effect.
Renaissance Age Serum is a product better applied alone and then followed with a moisturizer.

Does Gerda Spillmann participate in, or support, animal testing?

No way. We have an office full of pet parents and all agree there's nothing beautiful about hurting our furry friends! GS does not currently, nor have we ever, tested our products or individual ingredients on animals. Formulas are carefully designed and crafted by some of the top Swiss cosmetic formulators. We are so sure of the ingredients in our products we do not feel the need to engage in unethical and dangerous testing.
